About The Position

The Food Service Utility Worker is responsible for assisting the Food Service leadership team in implementing a world-class quality food service program. The Food Service Utility Worker is responsible for cleaning dirty dishes and pots & pans using a dish machine or 3-compartment sink. This position will also be responsible for assisting with putting away stock. Schedule: Sunday-Monday 11:00am-7:30pm, Wednesday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm and Friday 6:00am-2:30pm Posting closing date: January 6, 2026 Rate of pay: $18.50-$26.64 per hour based on experience

  • Adhere to hospital and department specific safety standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Clean dirty dishes and soiled pots and pans.
  • Put away clean dishes, pots and pans. Sort, stack, and store clean dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
  • Ensure all dirty dishes are prepped for the dish machine. Scrape or hose off returned food from soiled eating surfaces of plates, silverware, cups, and glasses. Scrape or hose off soiled surfaces from pots and pans.
  • Operate a mechanical dishmachine or washes, rinses, and sanitizes pots and pans by hand in a 3-compartment sink.
  • Inspect eating utensils for cleanliness. Notifies a supervisor when dishes and when utensils are spotted.
  • Read and record wash and rinse temperature gauges. Notifies a supervisor when temperatures are not within normal limits.
  • Ensure correct concentration of sanitizer in the 3-compartment sink.
  • Help receive and put away food and nonfood items. Help maintain a clean and orderly storeroom and walk in the cooler/freezer.
  • Check items ordered against delivery receipt for correctness.
