1. Ensures Kitchen Safety and Sanitation. Indicators include: Follows established standards/regulations of CACFP, Head Start, Child Care, OSHA and ServSafe for food safety, dishwashing and sanitation practices. Uses kitchen equipment safely and informs supervisor if not operating properly and of potential repairs. 2. Supports Meal Services For Children and Food for Meetings. Indicators include: Assists with basic kitchen tasks related to food preparation and dish setup for meals and functions assigned. Transports food and dishes to and from mealtime setting and meeting rooms, as assigned assuring timely delivery and pick-up. Assures timely cleaning of dishware following meals/snacks. Adheres to CACFP regulatory compliance, Child Care Licensing and Head Start philosophies. 3. Maintains Supplies and Inventory. Indicators include: Stocks shelves and takes care of orders received. Assists in routine monitoring of food and supply inventory. Assists with cost effective strategies related to food and paper supplies, such as reducing waste, recycling and “green” practices. 4. Supports Interdisciplinary Work and Collaboration. Indicators include: Contributes to effective, purposeful team communications to promote continuous program improvement. Supports the evolution of C&FS programming in a positive and professional manner, responding to any changes in structure, supervision, team members, job duties, and use of technology. Engages in reflective practice to support program self-assessment in a variety of forums. Supports and promotes awareness of community happenings. Supports nutrition education activities for children and families.
