About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Washes all soiled dishes, trays and utensils through the dish machine. Hand washes all pots and pans and sanitizes them through the dish machine. Delivers and picks up food carts from all patient care areas. Assists on tray line as indicated. Buses dirty cafeteria dishes and catering dishes. Maintains clean, safe and organized work area. Adheres to and practices the St. John's Health Corporate Compliance Program and participates in performance improvement activities.

  • Minimum Work Experience Required: Ability to interface with people in a positive and team oriented manner. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Good interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to adjust to fluctuating job demands, meets assigned deadlines and works independently.

Responsibilities

  • Dish-washing Duties · Scrapes, sorts, loads all trays, dishes and silverware in dish machine. Assures that dishes are clean.
  • Unloads dish machine, stacks clean dishes and puts away in the proper area. Makes sure Living Center has glasses and silverware at all times.
  • Buses dirty cafeteria dishes and silverware and stocks clean dishes during service hours. Making sure there are clean coffee cups are out at all times.
  • Manually washes all dirty pots and pans and sanitizes thorough the dish machine.
  • Assures the sanitation level in the dish machine is correct, checks and records daily.
  • Follows and adheres to established Infection Control practices, i.e. hand washing.
  • Maintains, develops and updates skills to implement ideal service. Attends department meetings, completes inservices etc.
  • Meal service · Assists with meal service as indicated i.e. takes food to the Living Center, pans bacon, sausage, assists with prep. helps with breaking down boxes and taking them out.
  • Transports food carts to and from patient care areas assuring that dishes are collected from areas in a timely manner.
  • Assists with room service as indicated. Delivers meals if needed to patients and demonstrates good customer service skills in all patient interactions.
  • Assists with cleaning up after catering events.
  • Cleaning Responsibilities · Completes assigned daily cleaning tasks. Cleans ovens, hoods and equipment during evening shift.
  • Breaks down and thoroughly cleans dish machine nightly.
  • Sweeps and mops departmental floors nightly. Takes all trash out of kitchen.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
