About The Position

The Dishwasher position in the cafeteria is responsible for ensuring that all dishes are sanitized and cleaned according to proper techniques and sanitation standards. This role involves operating the dish machine safely, maintaining cleanliness at all stations, and reporting any malfunctions to the management. The position requires effective communication with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and adherence to food safety protocols.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of HACCP processes required.
• Understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) practice required.
• Ability to read and write to interpret instructions.
• Assembly work and/or food service work experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety can be acquired with at least 3 months of on-the-job training.
• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food service work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure dishes are sanitized and cleaned properly using proper techniques and sanitation standards.
• Operate the dish machine following safety procedures and ensure it is functioning correctly.
• Report any malfunctions of the dish machine to the Manager or Director of Nutrition Services immediately.
• Maintain fresh, clean sanitation water and cleaner buckets at every station throughout the shift.
• Change sanitation buckets every 2 hours.
• Ensure clean side towels are placed only in sanitation buckets.
• Ensure no knives are placed into sanitation buckets and that they are washed by the cooks.
