The Kansas Department of Health and Environment's (KDHE) Bureau for Disease Control & Prevention (BDCP) has several DIS positions vacant across the state. Disease Intervention Specialists have been the backbone of public health for decades. DIS in Kansas are public health professionals who use contact tracing and case investigation to prevent and control infectious diseases like Syphilis and HIV/AIDS. As a DIS, you should possess certain skills such as, problem-solving skills, negotiation skills, investigative skills, and the ability to communicate and perform within a diverse population.
