About The Position

The Disaster Recovery Grant Management Consultant role at Deloitte focuses on helping Government and Public Services (GPS) organizations prepare for and respond to challenges, particularly in disaster recovery and crisis management. The position involves advising clients on risk management strategies, managing disaster grants, and ensuring operational continuity. The consultant will work within a team dedicated to delivering innovative crisis and grants management services, ultimately contributing to the resilience of communities and organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in grants management at the state, local, or federal level supporting disaster recovery programs.
  • Experience in emergency management, crisis management, or business continuity.
  • Knowledge of 2 CFR 200; GAAP; OMB Circulars (A-110, A-122, and A-133).
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups) and PowerPoint.
  • 1+ year of outside consulting experience supporting state, local, or federal grants programs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

  • Experience with incident action planning and contingency planning.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise GPS clients on disaster recovery and crisis management strategies.
  • Manage disaster grants such as FEMA's Public Assistance Grant Program and HUD's Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery.
  • Execute risk management strategies to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Provide guidance to executive stakeholders on claims management following disasters.
  • Conduct grant risk assessments and improve grant processes and operations.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and establish governance infrastructure for clients.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure and monitor performance in grant management.
