About The Position
The Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist position is located in the Field Operations section at the Morgantown local office of WorkForce West Virginia (WFWV). This exempt position is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel. The role involves utilizing comprehensive interviewing techniques to assess and identify employment barriers and appropriate employment goals for eligible veterans and their spouses who have been referred for Individualized Career Services (ICS). The specialist will provide ICS using a case management approach, create and modify a Veteran's Development Plan (VDP), maintain job seeker accounts, provide career coaching, and conduct outreach to various organizations to promote agency services. The position also includes job placement assistance, documentation of services, participation in training and events, and mentoring new staff.
