About The Position

The Disability Support Outreach Specialist is a part-time role focused on outreach and communication management for new and prospective students seeking accommodations through the Office of Disability Support Services (DSS). This position facilitates the intake process, provides administrative support, and promotes student engagement in campus resources and activities.

Requirements

• Associate Degree and two years' related experience.
• Working knowledge of higher education policies and processes.
• Specialized knowledge of post-secondary disability support.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and advocates.
• Competency with MS Office Suite/MS Teams.
• Ability to use small office equipment and perform standard administrative tasks.
• Positive, cooperative, and supportive attitude.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree and one year related experience.
• Competency with Higher Ed software (i.e. Starfish, Accommodate).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to inquiries, referrals, voicemails, and emails from new/prospective students and their advocates.
• Assist students/parents with onboarding to and use of the Accommodate system.
• Create and facilitate communication with current DSS students for check-in meetings and important reminders.
• Promote and facilitate DSS student engagement and use of campus resources for retention and success.
• Provide administrative support to DSS staff, including record-keeping and content development for programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
