We are looking for an organized and enthusiastic teammate to join our team as a Disability Claims Supervisor for our Specialized Claim Services CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Full time (40 hrs/wk) Company operations within EST Remote opportunity with equipment provided. Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience insurance/employee benefits Preferred minimum 5 years experience overseeing and supporting claims team JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the Specialized Claim Services (SCS) leadership team, the Supervisor is responsible for the successful management of a team of claims professionals (Technical Claim Consultants) and is accountable for the successful delivery of services to our clients in their role as “project lead” for those engagements to which they have been assigned. The Supervisor must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision and, with the support of the Director, serve as a key point of contact for the client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five (5) years of practical experience in insurance/employee benefits including the following: Strong understanding of underwriting/claim and other risk concepts. Solid understanding of medical terminology. Disability claims experience. Understanding of group insurance financial and business concepts. Strong background in group insurance with marketing resourcefulness and technical expertise.
  • Should possess strong math skills, be analytical and use critical thinking, have strict attention to detail, ability to problem-solve and have oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to be flexible, self-motivated and reliable.
  • Strong track record of collaborative partnerships, both internally and externally.
  • Must possess good Microsoft Office skills, especially comfortable with excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within scope of position.
