About The Position

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking to hire an experienced civil/dirt foreman for an ongoing project site in Waco, Tx. Experience on DOTD roadway construction, GPS grade control, and soil stabilization is preferred but not required. Qualified candidates will be responsible for running the day-to-day roadway operations and the construction site and directing crews as a working foreman. Job Description Responsible for running the day-to-day roadway operations on a construction site. Directs a crew as a working foreman and performs skilled work in the grading, leveling and preparation of roadway sections and related work as required. Tracking and recording daily production of the crews and reporting back to the superintendent. Inputting daily time sheets and other job-related paperwork. Manage, supervise, and coordinate onsite work crews. General Requirements Supervise and lead crews performing excavation, grading, embankment, and subgrade preparation. Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and equipment operators. Interpret and implement project plans, blueprints, and grade stakes. Ensure proper use and maintenance of heavy equipment such as dozers, graders, excavators, scrapers, and compactors. Monitor job site conditions and adjust work plans to meet productivity and schedule goals. Enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and company standards. Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) and ensure crew adherence to safety practices. Track production quantities and report progress to management. Identify and resolve field issues, including conflicts with utilities, soil conditions, or design discrepancies. Maintain quality control to ensure work meets specifications and tolerances. Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members. Functional Requirements 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction Proven experience as a foreman or lead operator in mass grading and site development Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, and compaction requirements Ability to read and interpret construction plans, profiles, cross-sections, and staking/grade information Experience working with survey crews, grade checking, and rods Familiarity with DOT specifications and roadway/bridge construction standards Manage subcontractors in roadway operations. Planning and scheduling. Read and understand drawings, specification, safety, and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work. Requirements
