About The Position

Job Goal: The Somerville Summer Music Camp provides a week of music programming during the summer for string, woodwind and brass players in the Somerville Public Schools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree preferred
• Evidence of five years of successful teaching/summer camp experience
• Demonstrated experience as an administrator or supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise music camp staff and all instructional activities
• Supervise the maintenance of attendance of students
• Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary
• Supervise the daily lunch and snack count and maintain supplies and equipment as well as proper distribution.
• Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff
• Supervise office procedures, opening-and closing-day procedures for staff and campers.
• Assess all summer camp activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs
• Must be available for Orientation/Professional Development: TBD
