About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Work with Division Support Center and AWG Support Center to develop and achieve budgeted expectations for department sales, gross margins, gains, promotional spends, and expense control in Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD), AWG Brands, and Advertising departments.  Ensure compliance by reporting variances to the Vice-President/Division Manager. 1. Monitor procurement of product to assist in attaining budgeted service levels, proper turns, gains and adequate inventory levels. 2. Provide direction to category management on selection, purchasing and pricing of division specific Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD) and AWG Brands lines.   3. Maintain contact with key regional suppliers to assist in driving sales in the division. 4. Work directly with Member Services Director, District Sales Managers with new member conversions, new stores, expansions and remodels.  Provide direction and assistance with the implementation of AWG merchandising and marketing programs designed to drive retail sales. 5. Collaborate on the activities of retail pricing at division level; working directly with retail pricing manager to maintain functional and competitive retail pricing models and programs designed to grow retail sales. 6.  Directly responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the activities involved with division food shows. 7.  Select, train, develop and appraise departmental personnel to ensure qualified staff and provide qualified people for promotion to a greater responsibility. 8.  Make timely visits to member group headquarters and individual stores.  Developing and maintaining a professional, helpful and friendly relationship with all      member store retailers. 9.  Support company philosophy on all aspects in accordance with stated positions in regards to trade, associates and retail members 10.  Works with the AIM Specialist to increase sales with the in house Ad Groups. 11.  Perform other duties as requested by the Vice-President/Division Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly responsible for managing employees in AWG Brands.   Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
