The Director Wholesale Sales and Business Development will drive organic and inorganic growth of Bemis Healthcare division through wholesale and distribution channel. The incumbent will live the corporate values of treating people with dignity and respect, practicing leadership, driving continuous improvement, acting with a sense of urgency, promoting innovation, fighting for consensus, and managing through teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree preferred in Healthcare, Marketing or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Sales and/or Business Development.
  • Healthcare industry experience and GPO/IDN management experience required.
  • Organized with ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Strong strategic thinking and data analytical skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and market share by forging new business relationships, securing key healthcare systems and accounts, and expanding the reach of BHC's solutions and medical products in all markets.
  • Analyze market segments, market gaps and recommend strategic courses of action for implementation.
  • Assist to develop and execute growth strategies and business development plans that align with the BHC's long-term financial objectives.
  • Monitor the healthcare industry landscape, competitor activities, and evolving market dynamics to identify the company's ideal customer profile.
  • Assist to identify and evaluate inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Provide support to OEM strategy.
  • Lead discussions that move beyond unit price to emphasize the total cost of ownership. Develop and execute creative, 'out-of-the-box' sales strategies to penetrate and maximize opportunities within commodity market.
  • Responsible for generating sales leads and creating sales with a “hunter mentality” focused on prospecting, generating interest, quickly uncovering sales opportunities, leveraging existing accounts, and closing new business.
  • Focus efforts on securing contracts with large Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and hospital networks. This involves navigating complex procurement processes and compliance requirements. Be fluent in all topics GPO related such as pricing tiers, volume commitments, local contracts and so on.
  • Manage BHC key accounts and key facilities to drive organic growth.
  • Strategically assess, develop, and implement new and alternative distribution channels to expand market reach and accelerate revenue growth.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with key distribution partners and key accounts.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences; responsible for lead follow up and revenue generation.
  • Develop and oversee network of independent sales rep agencies.
  • Manage independent sales reps through sales performance review and scorecard evaluation.
  • Responsible for sales pipeline development, tracking and management.
  • Responsible for sales rep territory mapping and optimization.
  • Help ISRs develop new and grow existing relationships with facilities, doctors, surgeons, physicians, nursing staffs, and purchasing decision-makers, in both acute and non-acute markets.
  • Travel with sales reps to provide supports and ensure deal closing.
  • Manage daily communications with sales force.
  • Support National Sales Meeting and Sales Training activities.
  • Assist ISRs and deliver compelling presentations and business cases that clearly articulate BHC value proposition and competitive advantage, focusing on the solutions.
  • Support marketing and product management strategies.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret sales data for opportunities/issues to grow sales and improve margin.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations Manager on pricing policy, quote development, and account profitability analysis.
  • Work closely with Production Planning and Forecasting to assist in balancing customer requirements and efficient manufacturing scheduling.
  • Monitor competitor products and sales and marketing activities. Document competitor understanding.
  • Identify product portfolio gap through interactions with the customers.
  • Support product life cycle planning including new product and end of life.
  • Up to 50% travel required.
