About The Position

The Director, Website Merchandising is responsible for leading the merchandising strategy and execution for the direct-to-customer channel, primarily through the website. This role aims to drive sales, profit, and engagement goals by identifying opportunities and recommending new concepts for the channel. The director will oversee a team, collaborate with various departments, and ensure the website provides an inspiring and user-friendly experience.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of previous eCommerce experience, preferably in B2C/retail.
  • Visual display or website merchandising experience.
  • Proven analytical and business planning skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions, anticipate problems, and provide creative solutions.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to stay focused and calm in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
  • Ownership attitude with a drive to achieve goals using resourcefulness and tenacity.
  • Strong affinity for the product/concept.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel/spreadsheet applications, content management systems, and web analytics tools (preferably Adobe Analytics).
  • Technical competencies in networking protocols such as OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP, and security protocols (IPSec, SSL).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarization with cloud/storage services.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python, Perl, iRules, TCL, Chef/Puppet, or Go.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Website Merchandising Managers and Merchandise Analysts to launch product assortments, promotions, and content on the website.
  • Work closely with Brand Merchandising to review financial plans, merchandising goals, and marketing concepts, developing website merchandising strategies to achieve them.
  • Build pre-season strategies to launch new seasonal products and marketing, optimizing website merchandising regularly in-season to drive sales and grow site KPIs.
  • Strategize and execute website navigation and content to create an inspiring user experience.
  • Communicate and execute the visual merchandising strategy for the website, integrating key product areas throughout the site.
  • Analyze sales and digital KPIs for eCommerce to inform opportunities for the channel and communicate findings to cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with the digital creative team to develop images, content, features, promos, and landing pages to drive product sales.
  • Oversee daily and seasonal website user acceptance testing and go-live deadlines in partnership with the Site Operations team.
  • Participate in daily site testing to ensure correct presentation and product data integrity.
  • Inform A/B and multi-variate testing for site optimization in partnership with web analytics/testing teams.
