About the position

The Director of UX and Communications Design will be responsible for the design of digital and physical touchpoints across Cox platforms and channels. You'll work with your peers across the CX organization to understand where opportunities lie and how Cox will best express its brand to deliver value through the customer experience. You'll bring these opportunities to life by creating high-level visual concepts that illustrate how customers interact with various touchpoint and channels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX and communications design across the Cox Residential customer experience, including its ecosystem of web, apps, contact centers, and other digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Bring the experience strategy to life with clear design intent using solutions such as wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or low-fidelity prototypes.
  • Push the creative envelope, continually raising the bar on the quality of our design work.
  • Guide the development and refinement of Cox's brand voice to enable content strategies that enhance the user experience and align with brand messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with other CX functions to ensure a coordinated effort to accomplish goals and improve the customer experience.
  • Partner with the CX Operations team and broader business to ensure that design execution stays true to the design intent developed by your team.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity across everything we design to meet diverse user needs.
  • Lead the UX and Communications Design Team, guiding their career growth, managing their bandwidth, and supporting their learning and development.
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations to sell visionary concepts to leadership across the company.
  • Support a thriving culture where designers do work that they're proud of and where we work to impress each other daily.
  • Manage relationships with external design partners.
  • Work closely with creative peers in Marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Figma, including prototyping; a strong working knowledge of core Adobe CC suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and leading AI tools across creative and experience use cases.
  • Proficiency monitoring and optimizing design outcomes using data analysis and user feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead to effective and concrete outputs.
  • Collaboration skills to work with peers across the organization.
  • Presentation and persuasion skills to gain buy-in from senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in design consulting; cable, telecoms, or technology; subscription business model; and in enterprises with annual revenues over $10bn desired.
  • Certifications in UX/UI design from the Nielsen Norman Group, Google, or equivalent institutions is a plus.
  • Experience in advanced motion design via Adobe After Effects or similar is a plus.
  • Has demonstrated understanding of AI strategy and its opportunities for aiding design work and/or optimizing internal processes.
