The IU Undergraduate Research ( IUUR ) office requires a Ph.D.-level professional with expertise in university research processes to serve as a campus liaison. This role will facilitate collaboration across various undergraduate initiatives, craft a cohesive vision, and develop shared guidelines and processes to enhance accessibility and impact across broader student populations. By prioritizing the development of faculty relationships and resources, this position enables the IUUR Student Programming Manager to concentrate more fully on fostering student growth through participation in undergraduate research activities. This role will also develop Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs) at scale, which require broad faculty, student, and IU Research partnerships. Job Summary The Director of Undergraduate Research and Mentor Development provides strategic leadership and vision for the IU Undergraduate Research office, playing a central role in promoting and advancing undergraduate research and creative activities at Indiana University Bloomington ( IUB ). This position works closely with faculty to foster collaborative partnerships aimed at developing and implementing high-quality undergraduate research opportunities across all academic disciplines. This position also supervises the IUUR Student Programming Manager, fostering a stronger connection between faculty mentors and undergraduate researchers while ensuring that the programming offered by IUUR meets the needs of both groups. The Director is also responsible for supporting grant writing and budget management efforts, with a focus on expanding interdisciplinary undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities for underrepresented students in undergraduate research and creative endeavors. The Director position is a 12-month academic appointment. This appointment is renewable based on mutually satisfactory performance and the needs of the department.
