About The Position

The Director, U.S. Pricing and Financial Resource Optimization is responsible for pricing and financial resource optimization for U.S. Prime Services, ensuring client pricing, financial resource management and regulatory metrics satisfy both U.S. and global needs and are executed/delivered in compliance with business strategy, governing regulations and internal policies and procedures. The role covers all products within U.S. Prime Services, including prime brokerage, securities lending, and synthetic financing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in, or supporting, Prime Services.
  • Excellent computing skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, with Python experience preferred.
  • University degree required, post-graduate degree preferred (e.g., business, law, etc.).
  • Strong communication and project management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • High professional standards including a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork.
  • SIE, Series 7 and Series 63.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates client portfolios to determine optimal pricing and maximize client value proposition.
  • Works closely with relationship managers, traders and clients to analyze and propose opportunities to optimize both portfolios and returns.
  • Manages the day-to-day use of financial resources in U.S. Prime Services, including prime brokerage, securities lending, and synthetic financing.
  • Is an important resource for matters related to U.S. regulatory metrics, such as capital and liquidity requirements.
  • Centralizes knowledge regarding the financial resources footprint of the U.S. Prime Services business.
  • Develops reporting and metrics to be used across global Prime Services to drive profitability and efficiencies.
  • Thinks critically about existing processes and functions and helps drive positive change through communication and automation.
  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values and Code of Conduct.
