Position Summary The Director, Training and Education is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing, developing, implementing, and delivering training content for employee and customer training programs. The Director of Training & Education provides leadership to support the Company’s short and long term field training objectives. Specific responsibilities include development of all training programs including face to face, online, management of the company LMS, and managing the training schedule and staff. This is an on-site position in Madison, NJ Under direction from the VP Clinical Affairs and Training, the Director, Training and Education will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in medical device training and/or instructional design. Clinical field training experience strongly desired.
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, training development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the Company.
  • Must work effectively with physicians and affiliated hospital staff.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Instructional Design and/or Life Sciences required, Master’s degree welcome
  • Computer literate and familiar with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Be able to travel regularly within North America and occasionally to Europe as required
  • Right to work in the USA
  • Have a full driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Serves as key Training official of the Company, providing support in the area of in-house, field and online training content development.
  • Manages the development and implementation of education programs for employees and customers.
  • Ensures alignment of Education department activities with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Develops the annual training plan and resources necessary to achieve goals.
  • Develops department policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Manages the OrganOx’ Training Center, including set-up with needed equipment, maintenance of supplies and management of facilities schedule
  • Manages development and maintenance of requirements for the training and certification of Field Clinical Specialists and customers, including a formal certification manual.
  • Maintains and applies expertise in instructional design, adult learning and facilitation.
  • Supports the design, development, and implementation of online training tools (e.g. Learning Management System (LMS)).
  • Coordinates the functionality and maintenance of the Learning Management System content, content development and reporting.
  • Ensures the completeness and maintenance of all electronic training department records for all trainees meeting company and FDA policies and guidelines.
  • Manage initial and maintenance of employee hospital credentialing.
  • Supports reporting to management of all training activities regarding training and certification of field clinical specialist employees.
  • Ensures engagement of physician training consultant as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of cooperation and support by interfacing with the field leadership and other departments and take corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Maintains a global training partnership with OUS colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned by VP Clinical & Medical Affairs, North America
