About The Position

The Director of Total Rewards will design and lead the company’s compensation, payroll, benefits and HR analytics strategies to attract, retain, and motivate top talent in a high-performance, customer-centric environment. This leader will ensure that all total rewards programs align with the company’s luxury retail brand values, business goals, and commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience. Additionally, this individual will be a trusted advisor amongst the Human Resources Team by offering mentorship on real world application. You will be supporting the Americas and will continuously improve the attention behind our programs, processes and policies and ensure that all are specific to the OTB culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline required; Master’s degree or advanced HR certification (e.g., CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior Total Rewards or Compensation & Benefits role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and HR technology platforms.
  • Proven track record of success within retail, luxury, or consumer-facing industries, managing diverse corporate and field employee populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically design and operationalize Total Rewards programs that drive performance, engagement, and organizational excellence.
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and problem-solving capability, with proficiency in HRIS platforms and compensation analytics tools.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Adept at balancing strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring alignment between business priorities and people strategies.
  • Deep understanding of labor and employment laws, compensation principles, benefits administration, and compliance best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience in change leadership—driving innovation from ideation to implementation while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of all employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, reconcile accounts, and complete all audits, reporting, and tax filings (e.g., W-2, 1099, T4, Mexico equivalents).
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing compensation, payroll, and employment practices.
  • Develop and preserve detailed audit trails and documentation for all payroll and compensation transactions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies while delivering exceptional employee service.
  • Develop and execute a holistic Total Rewards strategy encompassing compensation, benefits, recognition, and wellbeing programs that reinforce the company’s luxury brand positioning and business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define and evolve compensation and benefits philosophies that foster innovation, high performance, and exceptional service standards.
  • Direct the strategic design, implementation, and governance of all base pay structures, variable incentive programs, and commission plans for global retail and corporate teams.
  • Lead annual compensation planning processes—including merit reviews, bonuses, and long-term incentives—to ensure market competitiveness, pay equity, and alignment with financial goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Total Rewards programs through benchmarking, analytics, and emerging market trends.
  • Oversee the management, configuration, and optimization of HRIS and ADP systems to ensure accurate, secure, and efficient handling of employee data, benefits, and payroll information.
  • Collaborate with IT, HR partners and global to assess upgrades, implement new functionalities, and maintain robust system integrity and data security.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related issues, providing end-user training, troubleshooting, and process guidance.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and automate HRIS and payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Direct the design and administration of comprehensive employee benefit offerings—including health, wellness, retirement, and lifestyle programs—that reflect a luxury employer value proposition.
  • Evaluate vendor partnerships, lead contract negotiations, and manage performance to maximize value, quality, and employee satisfaction.
  • Introduce innovative wellbeing and engagement initiatives that enhance productivity, retention, and overall employee experience.
  • Build and sustain a robust HR analytics framework to measure compensation effectiveness, workforce costs, and retention trends.
  • Deliver actionable insights and executive dashboards to inform strategic decision-making and strengthen organizational performance.
  • Utilize metrics and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making across all Total Rewards functions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards, Payroll, and HRIS team to ensure operational excellence and professional growth.
  • Foster cross-functional partnerships with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Global and Finance to deliver cohesive people strategies that reinforce a culture of luxury, performance, and innovation.
  • Champion data privacy, ethical standards, and compliance with all global compensation and benefits regulations.
