We are seeking to recruit a senior and seasoned TMT sector banker with well-established client relationships who would enjoy working in dynamic environment, within an established and successful team. This person will be a self-starter and work closely with existing team members (app. 15 people including the Head and TMT colleagues), and with other teams within the organization. The banker is responsible for covering all Technology, Media & Telecom verticals, with focus on Digital Infrastructure, and shall be able to originate deals addressing various sources of financings from construction to operation and stabilized assets. Close cooperation with Capital Markets teams including securitization, private placement, debt capital markets as well as additional advisory and other investment banking products Is critical. The role requires an experienced banker who can work with little or no supervision in managing and expanding an active portfolio of corporates and sponsors, supported by junior sector bankers and extensive product coverage. TMT sector knowledge and/or prior TMT sector experience, good credit grounding and knowledge of wholesale banking products is essential. Given the seniority of the role, the individual would be expected to have the capability, experience and gravitas to engage at the C-suite level with clients, deliver superior customer experience by identifying and coordinating the delivery of strategic financial products, manage an international network and contribute effectively to the growth strategy for the sector/region.

  • The successful candidate is expected to formulate client strategy and develop / manage client relationships in the TMT sector, working with other team members, including product specialists, to help with origination of new business with portfolio companies and sponsors, ongoing client relationship management, monitoring, maintaining and expanding their portfolio. The work envisaged encompasses leading origination efforts, assisting with deal structuring, credit analysis, taking a leadership role and guiding deal team members, leading internal approval process and legal documentation as required, and coordinating with relevant product teams to deliver multi-product solutions to clients and achieving cross-buy and return objectives.
  • Identification, development, and maintenance of close relationships with clients as primary contact. Coordinating the development of presentation material and pitches to clients leading to new mandates.
  • Helping achieve sector income, fee, cross-buy, ESG and return targets, and achieving other financial / non-financial KPIs.
  • Providing direction and leadership to deal teams, including ensuring efficient allocation of resources and support in execution. Overseeing client marketing and transaction origination & execution, taking a lead role when required.
  • Identify and monitor developments and opportunities within the Americas TMT sector. Continuously build knowledge on the sector, competitors, products, and macroeconomic trends/ issues and contribute to ING strategic initiatives.
  • Ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members, ensuring proactive performance and personal development to instill a strong performance culture and help achieve results.
  • Graduate or post-graduate degree holder in Business/Finance/Economics or other relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 15 years of investment / corporate banking experience (or other relevant field).
  • Thought leader in the TMT sector(s) and deep, established client and sponsor relationships in the US/Americas
  • Experience in structuring and deal execution in TMT transactions in corporate/investment banking
  • Sound knowledge of credit, financial models and loans documentation, including training and developing junior talent
  • Solid track record in origination and cross-selling other products like financial markets, DCM, M&A advisory and transaction services
  • Strong analytical, presentation, leadership and communication skills.
  • An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of self-motivation.
