About The Position

The Director, Theatrical Publicity, is responsible for managing every aspect of consumer press campaigns for Angel’s theatrical slate and is a member of Angel’s communications team. The ideal candidate will have unmatched national media relationships and a successful track record of directly leading and booking national publicity campaigns for major studio theatrical releases across several genres. This role will be directly responsible for booking national morning and late-night television appearances as well as securing high-impact long lead national consumer press to generate awareness for Angel releases, complementing the company’s marketing campaigns. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality of company information.
  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments at once, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks.
  • Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office.
  • Able to integrate feedback on tasks and assignments positively and adapt as necessary.
  • A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn quickly.

  • Positive attitude, understanding that Communications is a relationship-driven function.
  • Minimum of 6 years of theatrical publicity experience working at a major studio or agency
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • 6 years of national theatrical publicity experience, leading consumer media campaigns for major releases across multiple genres.

Responsibilities

  • Manage national, high-impact consumer media campaigns for every Angel theatrical release.
  • Book national morning and late-night television shows and secure and manage long-lead, impactful national consumer stories.
  • Proven track record of securing high-profile media and outstanding, direct relationships with network talent bookers (morning and late night), national magazine editors, and top reporters and editors at national newspapers and leading digital news outlets.
  • Oversee Angel’s theatrical publicity agencies and carefully manage agency budgets.
  • Directly book national and local press to support theatrical publicity junkets.
  • Collaborate with the company’s distribution and marketing managers to build consensus and ensure that publicity efforts are aligned with theatrical marketing campaigns and goals.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in the English language is required.
