Directs a team of employees who perform 3-5 year strategic planning by researching and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the relationship between the enhanced packet core technology (current and future) and the rest of ATTs business through understanding of the core network functions and platforms. Provides leadership and sets long term strategy for a team that leverages strong technical evaluation skills, including the ability to interpret disparate, complex information into a range of alternate futures (i.e. scenario planning). Utilizes research skills and quickly evaluates competitive and industry dynamics with respect to (technical and economic) impacts for new and different technology/technologies. Leverages standard corporate strategy frameworks and applies Total Cost of Ownership analysis from a technical perspective. Integrates both technical and strategic analysis into a synthesized set of hypotheses and conclusions. Distills core components of complex problems into succinct and easily understood set of key decisions and conclusions. Demonstrates confidence and poise in presenting hypotheses, conclusions, and recommendations to senior management. Supervises and develops a team of subordinates, conducts joint goal setting and performance reviews, as well as assists in the allocation of resources and financial responsibilities. The candidate must possess and have demonstrated an expert level of knowledge of mobility core platforms and network functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Expert level of knowledge of mobility core platforms and network functions.

Responsibilities

  • Align technology initiatives with business objectives; ensure strategic decisions are informed by research on emerging technologies and trends.
  • Work with internal and external sources to collect data; collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams to support business goals.
  • Define and develop tools, models, and frameworks; conduct and coordinate research and analysis; collect relevant data from internal and external sources.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate communication to senior management of technology organizations.
