About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to fill the position of Director, Technology Strategy and Transformation. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented professional with extensive experience in managing key tasks of the CIO Office like Project Portfolio Management, Resource Planning and Allocation, IT Strategy, Standards and Governance, Vendor Management, and leading cross-functional teams. The Director, Technology Strategy and Transformation will provide leadership for overseeing information technology management across the enterprise, including IT strategy, governance, performance management, operating model, and the establishment of standardized methodologies. The Director, Technology Strategy and Transformation will oversee the successful execution of projects and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and driving the achievement of business goals. They will be a trusted business partner to Business teams, ITS teams and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, leading complex initiatives.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Regulated Utility.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a technology organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale programs on time and within budget, while accomplishing desired business outcomes.
  • Experience in business planning, strategy and operations.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or SAFe Agile certification will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align project initiatives with overall business strategies, priorities and objectives.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the PMO, ensuring programs are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement program strategies to optimize performance, drive successful program delivery, and achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Track program and project performance against established metrics and objectives to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Establish and enforce governance practices within the PMO to ensure consistent project intake, prioritization, scoping and execution.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks, including reporting, risk management, and issue resolution processes in relation to project delivery.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Establish and implement technology governance practices in relation to Technology Standards, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Business and IT stakeholders and across the partner ecosystem.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, proactively addressing concerns and conflicts.
  • Communicate program updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and manage program budgets and forecasts to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Track financial performance of programs, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Oversee Resource Management for Project Portfolio, ensuring resources needs are accurately forecasted and correctly recorded and allocated to projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the PMO team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient program execution.
  • Identify talent needs within the PMO and manage talent acquisition and development accordingly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in program and project management methodologies.
  • Drive innovation in project execution to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Track and analyze metrics to drive continuous improvement in program performance.
