Job Summary Under the direction of the Partner leading the respective service area or industry, the Director is primarily an experienced consultant capable of leading and closing client project opportunities, planning, managing and overseeing the execution of client engagements and influencing the development of our professional staff. May lead a service delivery team by managing associates, engagements, and client relationships, in accordance with firm policies and procedures. The primary objective for a Director is to build leadership, leverage, and legacy for the Firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten+ years’ experience in a professional services firm or eight+ years of private industry experience focused on appropriate technical area plus three+ years in professional services.
  • Proven ability to apply strategic thinking to assess future possibilities and translate them into actionable growth strategies that align with firm and client goals.
  • Demonstrated success in driving innovation by identifying new and better ways for the firm to deliver value, improve services, and stay ahead of market trends.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of client needs, market dynamics, and firm capabilities to support service expansion and operational excellence.
  • Experienced inclusive and inspirational leader who motivates teams through purpose-driven leadership and builds trust across diverse groups.
  • Skilled in leading teams through change and ambiguity, with the agility to adapt plans and priorities in response to evolving client and business needs.
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining trusted client relationships, managing expectations effectively, and ensuring long-term satisfaction and engagement.
  • Experienced in mentoring and developing next-generation talent by involving them in client development and engagement activities, while promoting collaboration and growth.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas to diverse audiences, including clients, team members, and senior leadership.
  • Strong collaborator who builds and leverages internal and external networks to support business development, deepen client value, and foster cross-functional alignment.
  • Demonstrated organizational influence through industry alignment and cultivates visibility beyond immediate service areas, leading cross-functional initiatives, and fostering multi-service collaboration to advance firm-wide priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and contributes to business development by identifying new opportunities with existing and prospective clients and supporting the transition of one-time engagements into service expansions and recurring advisory relationships.
  • Broadens perspective proactively beyond primary service area by identifying and pursuing cross-service and multi-disciplinary opportunities, fostering industry alignment, and building visibility across the firm.
  • Thinks strategically about client needs, firm capabilities, and market trends, serving as an advisor who connects clients to holistic solutions
  • Ensures growth and expansion by driving service offerings, participating in growth efforts, and applying Ideal Client Profile (ICP) strategy to deepen client relationships.
  • Participates in sales pursuits through proposal development, engagement letters, and collaboration with partners and business development teams.
  • Manages client engagements with proactive planning, leadership, and accountability, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Develops and executes service plans for assigned industry and subject matter areas, contributing to growth and delivery objectives under partner direction.
  • Promotes thought leadership through external presentations, whitepapers, and active involvement in market-facing initiatives.
  • Provides performance coaching or mentoring of next-gen talent by involving them in client engagements and development activities, fostering readiness for future leadership roles.
  • Leads or contributes to growth strategy through assessment, planning and execution of initiatives across industries and product areas.
  • Actively pursues continued professional development of their respective expertise.
