Job Summary The Senior Manager, Project Management establishes and leads the centralized Program Management Office (PMO) within the CTO org. This includes developing and leading the deployment of best practice project and program management methodologies across the entire organization, monitoring and controlling project performance for all projects under PMO control, and defining and leading strategic programs under which multiple projects are managed. This role will lead a team of Project Managers responsible for planning and organizing the successful execution of large scale cross functional projects and are responsible for defining the portfolio of projects to be managed by the team. Furthermore, you will ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution and help teams forge strategic partnerships as well as help drive key decisions and execution of technology initiatives. You will be responsible for holding team members accountable through strong leadership and motivation, cheering them on as you work together to achieve the goals of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management and considerable knowledge of project management software tools and management techniques
  • Experience planning and managing larger-scale project implementations from start to finish
  • Strong software skills (Clarizen, Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience leading diverse teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting operations, businesses, functions, or equivalent
  • This position requires sitting, typing, and repetitive motions
  • Demonstrated experience leading implementation of multiple complex projects, with an understanding of systems development lifecycles, business analysis, and requirements processes
  • Excellent organizational, conflict management and issue resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in project management discipline and techniques, including strong project management skills (project planning, estimation, work-task breakdown, issue management, risk management) and attention to detail
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to define and utilize quantitative and qualitative management information or transactional reports to identify key trends and tie to larger strategic business objectives
  • Strong strategic thinking with excellent program management and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals from all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively work and lead under pressure to meet tight deadlines and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in an environment of active change

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in financial services, corporate, or investment banking industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Program Management Office for MX CTO org, including creation of consolidated PMO status, resolving escalated issues, assigning projects and tasks, and the people and performance management of the team of Project Managers
  • Work with executive leadership to understand strategic direction and priorities and then define the strategic programs and subset of projects to be managed by the PMO each quarter and annum
  • Manage project plans: Create project plans, gather updates, estimate work, assess resource needs, assign tasks, and identify risks and issues that impact resources and timelines
  • Assign projects to team members, report on the status of each program and the collective scorecard of the team's progress, coach the team and help to remove hurdles preventing the success of individual projects, team members, or the entire team
  • Conduct program update meetings and provide status updates, as well as attend other project, work stream, or function specific meetings
  • Work collaboratively with business management, product, engineering, and other teams to understand business requirements, align stakeholder expectations, engage with business for project participation, update stakeholders on project progress, and prepare for project deployment and associated business changes
