About The Position

UBS Business Solutions US LLC is seeking a Director, Tech Data Engineer in Weehawken, NJ. Are you an innovative thinker? Are you focused on the details, even when under pressure? We're looking for a Director, Tech Data Engineer to build UBS' next generation of AI/ML platforms, write the code that will underpin the UBS Data Mesh, and ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by adhering to digital principles. You will learn new technologies and practices and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind, working in an agile way as part of multi-disciplinary teams. You will share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, assist in hiring talented data engineers, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities. Additionally, you will build and work within the Group Chief Technology Organization, focusing on the development of the Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics platform (ADA), closely interacting with business professionals and data scientist teams across the bank. You will help to scale, build, and leverage data and AI in the business, partnering with different divisions and functions across the Bank to develop innovative digital solutions and expand technical expertise into new areas. This position allows for hybrid work (In-Office/Remote).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
• Ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or as a Lead Data Engineer, VP Technology, Architect-Technology, Technical Project Manager, Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or as a Lead Data Engineer, VP Technology, Architect-Technology, Technical Project Manager, Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
• Experience with Java, Python, Public cloud services, Messaging and streaming technologies including Kafka.
• Experience with Big data technologies including Spark and cloud storage, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience with Data mesh principles and technologies, Linux/Ubuntu.
