Requirements

  • 5 years of progressive nursing leadership within an integrated pediatric healthcare system
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Possession of excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of the following skills and aptitudes - strategic planning and evaluation: financial analysis and management; team / partnership orientation; conflict resolution; and physician relations
  • Demonstrates the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities - personal organization; time management; human relations and teamwork; personal adaptability; personal motivation; and listening

  • Master's degree in health administration or business administration

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, coordinates, and maintains an organizational structure which promotes multi-disciplinary collaborative practices, participatory involvement, innovation, fiscal accountability, strategic planning and development, outcome-focused goal setting, adequate and effective resource allocation, community involvement, and customer service
  • Directs the overall clinical management of the service line by developing and implementing clinical programs identified in strategic and business plans, integrating and coordinating care delivery throughout the service line, and assessing the feasibility of new programs, products, and services
  • Manages the overall financial performance of the service line on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis by assisting with the budget development and financial analysis
  • Ensures appropriate information systems and databases are available to support service line operations
  • Makes recommendations for space and other resources needed by the service line, makes staff recommendations to support clinical functions, and ensures the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services, and creates and maintains effective physician relationships
  • Serves as key contact point for clinical issues related to the service line by regularly interacting and communicating with clinical leadership, physician clinical operations, human resources, system quality improvement, senior leadership at CHOA, and other service lines and department leaders
  • Monitors and reports critical clinical success factors for the service line including financial indicators, customer satisfaction, quality, and compliance with budgetary and fiscal goals
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs to promote the recruitment, retention, professional development, and continuing education of clinical staff in the service line
  • Accountable for driving effective and safe admission, transfer and discharge process for division and hospital, ensuring efficient patient flow and outcomes through collaboration with physicians, other departments, system leadership, and staff - removes barriers and identifies patterns for improvement
