About The Position

The Director of External Capabilities in Small Molecule Process R&D is responsible for managing a team of scientists and overseeing the delivery of clinical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) to support the company's small molecule pipeline. This role involves collaboration with internal project teams and external partners, budget management, and personnel development, while promoting a culture of scientific excellence and compliance.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry.
• 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in synthetic chemistry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire dynamic teams.
• Strong track record of delivering results through innovation and problem-solving.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiating, influencing, and collaboration skills.
• Recognized in the pharmaceutical industry for subject matter expertise through publications or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of scientists responsible for clinical API deliveries.
• Collaborate with project teams and external partners to support API commercialization.
• Oversee budget and logistics for external operations in Small Molecule Process R&D.
• Recruit, appraise, and develop personnel under supervision.
• Provide strategic direction and innovative solutions to synthetic chemistry and development problems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with management and scientists at external partners.
• Promote a culture of scientific excellence, trust, collaboration, quality, safety, and compliance.
