About The Position

Director, Supply Chain Position Summary: 100% on-site Our Greenville, NC site specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. The Director, Supply Chain role provides strategic leadership across all areas, including logistics, planning, and procurement, and is responsible for negotiating maintenance supply agreements and new contracts. The Director, Supply Chain, oversees departmental activities and personnel, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This position collaborates with the Greenville Site Leadership Team and industry peers for guidance and best practices. Additionally, the role sets goals, manages direct reports, and interprets and enforces policies and procedures that impact organizational units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, providing strategic and operational leadership in a customer driven planning and logistics environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Strong background in procurement, planning logistics, and inventory control.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts, including maintenance supply agreements.
  • Significant experience managing people and providing both tactical and strategic leadership to the Supply Chain organization and the site as a whole.
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS, CSCP, or PMP certification is a plus and regulatory training or certification (e.g., GMP, GDP) preferred.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the logistics and planning function to ensure optimal processing of customer orders.
  • Manage the purchasing function to ensure coordinated and efficient supply of production.
  • Oversee and collaborate with procurement on business continuity strategy.
  • Work closely with operations to develop production capacity plans and strategies for the medium and long term and help identify potential capacity and operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Ownership for Sales & Order Planning (S&OP) and Ownership of SAP master data
  • Drive cost reduction throughout the supply chain and own/drive the batch release process.
  • Negotiate and manage supply agreements, coordinate supply related items with customers and respond to requests for new business proposals from sales team.
  • Work with specialist and technical functions (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.) to ensure problem-free introduction of new products.
  • Through consultation with the Sales and Finance functions, agree ‘pricing’ (and negotiate Terms and Conditions with the potential customers in liaison with the sales team)
  • Manage and host customer review meetings and manage customer service via direct liaison with all key clients.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce site commercial spend by utilizing the purchasing function to drive cost improvements on capex, raw materials and supply chain initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
