Job Summary Supports the system-wide Supply Chain function by leading implementation, development, and management of systems and tools including Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, GHX, Point of use Technology (Pyxis), Vendor Management system, and Product recall. Provides support to the Vice President of Supply Chain Management in enhancing the operational and financial performance of supply chain services. Responsible for improving supply chain automation with expectations to become the industry leader. Job Description THIS IS A 2 YEAR TEMPORARY POSITION

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Eight (8) years of industry training and increasingly responsible experience in information systems, tools and analytics
  • Working knowledge of mainframe, minicomputer, microcomputer, and telecommunications strategies, environments, equipment, development tools, and methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills ability to leverage established working relationships, drive consensus, and promote accountability
  • Ability to manage conflict
  • Successful project management skills ability to work under pressure and multi-task competing priorities within established time constraints
  • Proven ability to analyze information and situations and to identify issues
  • Must be able to deal with difficult issues, maintain objectivity, use good judgment, and envision outcomes when making decisions
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced presentation and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Proficient with business intelligence and data mining tools
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems, policies and practices
  • Experience in Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS) or ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-energy environment with time sensitive projects and processes

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implements processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of the Supply Chain Information System to ensure an accurate item file, consistent descriptions, valid pricing, etc.
  • Ensures optimal utilization of Lawson ERP System related to electronic interchanges for pricing updates, EDI ordering, and invoice payment.
  • Conducts market research and makes recommendations to enhance supply chain automation and ensure return on investment.
  • Coordinates the implementation and performance management of third party provided supply chain information systems and tools.
  • Works with management and vendors to adopt supply chain management best practices.
  • Reports on the progress of implementing recommendations from third-party vendors.
  • Maintains competency in current industry trends regarding supply chain management best practices.
  • Establishes department KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Designs and implements effective tools to measure performance against the defined goals.
  • Provides the support and motivation necessary to create and maintain a technical atmosphere that encourages proactive research and development.
  • Manages the organization’s compliance with Supply Chain policies and related process flows.
  • Works closely with Accounts Payable to resolve and avoid invoice discrepancies.
  • Supports the Vice President of Supply Chain in enhancing the performance of system-wide Supply Chain management initiatives.
  • Monitors monthly supply chain management performance indicators and investigate variances in performance and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Facilitates multi-disciplinary meetings of managers and clinicians from across the health system, record meeting action items, and promote accountability through regular communication and follow-up with stakeholders.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
