About The Position

As a Director of Supply Chain, you'll lead and mentor a team of Subcontracts Managers and Subcontracts Management Specialists to define, develop and improve the supply base and ensure its support to SNC's programs. You'll establish priorities to maintain production schedules to ensure program milestones and delivery requirements are met, as well as coordinate with executive management, program management and other department managers to ensure the company's material, planning and production objectives are supported. You will act as a critical change agent: Influencing SNC's policies and procedures for Supply Chain best practices to best support SNC's customers (internal and external); Developing, testing, and implementing changes to SNC's proposal processes regarding Subcontracts' roles, responsibilities, risk identification, and proposal labor estimating; Supporting future Source-to-Pay capabilities; Improving SNC's management of Subcontracts; and Implementing Category Management plans for the organization. Additionally, you'll develop departmental plans and organizational priorities in supplier compliance, operations compliance, as well as control resources and guide decisions based on functional objectives and priorities. You'll develop a higher level of supplier accountability for performance and sustainability, and play a key role in system and functional integrations of supply chain strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study.
  • Thorough knowledge commodity, category and sourcing management.
  • Experience managing manufacturing timelines and requirements.
  • Demonstrated competency of supply chain management processes, techniques and compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation strategy skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.
  • Mastery of the ability to drive innovative thinking, lead and inspire your team, instill collaboration, challenge status quo, manage complex situations, delegate authority, and demonstrate ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to interpret technical requirements.
  • Ability to navigate change and uncertainty, make defensible decisions in ambiguity and own those decisions.
  • Typically 12-15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Expert working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance.
  • Highly proficient with developing and presenting business case materials to all levels of the organization to gain understanding, alignment and action.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Commodity, Category and Sourcing Management.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams, and successfully driving positive organizational change.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess a team's skills and ensure productive training is provided to elevate the capabilities of the team.
  • Ability to read and understand technical requirements.
  • Candidate must have extensive Supply Chain Management skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically, 15-20 years of relevant experience.
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
  • CPSM (all levels) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in Supply Chain supporting government contracts.
  • Demonstrated passion for ideation, intellectual curiosity, and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.
  • Proven long-term and strategic perspective that extends beyond the immediate initiatives; visualizes and articulates a clear direction.
  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and improve the development of the supply base.
  • Oversee the development of production schedules to ensure program milestones and delivery requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with executive management, program management and other department managers to ensure the company's material, planning and production objectives are supported.
  • Review and approve capital, contract equipment, and facility requests based on program and company demands.
  • Drive strategic directives for departmental plans and organizational priorities in supplier compliance, operations compliance, operations support and special orders.
  • Shape a higher level of supplier accountability for performance and sustainability.
  • Guide system and functional integrations of supply chain strategy and execution.
