About The Position

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt failsafe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to five years without the need to refuel. Portable nuclear power with rapid deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators, and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development utilizes modern software engineering to rapidly achieve safe, factory-built microreactors that leverage existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor next year at the Idaho National Laboratory, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028. The Director will lead a team of Supply Chain Managers and Buyers responsible for critical reactor components and services, driving consistent adherence to processes while continuously improving workflows as the organization scales. This role partners closely with Engineering, Finance, Regulatory, Production, Supplier Development, and Planning leadership to ensure material availability, reliable promise dates, and clean supply chain data that supports confident decision-making in a regulated, fast-moving environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on operational excellence, accountability, and turning complex supply chains into predictable execution engines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations, including leadership of teams.
  • Strong operational understanding of sourcing, contracting, PO execution, expediting, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven ability to run complex procurement operations with tight schedules and high accountability.

  • Sourcing & Procurement Operations Oversee sourcing strategies and supplier selection in close collaboration with Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) and Engineering. Ensure commercial terms, lead times, quality clauses, and flow-down requirements are correctly reflected in contracts and purchase orders. Maintain tight control of the full PO lifecycle—from requisition to delivery, closure, and post-delivery follow-up.
  • Delivery & Performance Management Own supply chain health metrics including promise date integrity, on-time delivery to need date, PO line health, and supplier responsiveness. Ensure meeting notes, supplier commitments, and follow-ups are documented, tracked, and reflected accurately in systems. Proactively identify at-risk parts and suppliers, mobilizing resources to protect manufacturing and program schedules.
  • Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement Enforce consistent use of established supply chain processes while identifying and implementing improvements to streamline workflows. Partner with Supply Chain Operations and Technology teams to implement dashboards, reporting, and data pipelines that improve visibility and decision-making. Support integration of supply chain into engineering change processes, ensuring material impact is assessed and dispositioned correctly.
