Your Impact The Director, Supply Chain DC Operations provides support for various operational aspects of our Supply Chain nodes (Regional DCs, Import DCs, Bulk DCs, Fulfillment and Pro Fulfillment Centers, etc.), and to lead cross-functional strategic initiatives for continued network improvement. This position is responsible for supporting the operations of all facilities within the networks, including Lowe's operated and third-party logistics (3PL) operated, in achieving high levels of efficiency, safety, and customer service related to the receiving and distribution of product. This position works with the team of General Managers, Locations Managers and Operations Managers, Field Leaders, Store Support Center Associates, and 3PL providers that are responsible for the unloading, storing, and distribution of product to the various distribution centers, Stores and Direct to Customers. Under the leadership of the Vice President, Supply Chain Distribution Center Operations, this team develops and executes operational strategy within each facility to support company objectives related to safety, sales, operating expense, and customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for leading positive relationships with third party providers, Transportation, Network Optimization, Store Operations, Supply Chain, Loss Prevention, Store Support Center and other stakeholders. To accomplish this, the incumbent must have a wide knowledge of business, commercial, and operational processes and strategy related to Supply Chain, Store Operations, Customer Service, Information Technology, Engineering and Continuous Improvement techniques. This position must also be proficient in people development and be experienced in leading (direct or indirect) a team of Managers toward maximum potential. This role participates in strategic decisions related to Supply Chain Operations and works closely with cross-functional partners to design future state improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering / Supply Chain preferred or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 10 Years Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • 8 Years Business leadership experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Store Operations or related field
  • 8 Years Supply Chain/Distribution experience
  • 5 Years Leadership experience with direct report responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • Operations leadership experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Delivery
  • Past consulting experience a plus
  • APCIS-Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

Responsibilities

  • Work with Network Design & Optimization to recommend product flow improvements for leadership review to increase total network productivity through better service and cost to continually meet performance goals
  • Establish and implement recommendations for product flow changes to address capacity constraints and work cross-functionally with teams in Inventory Replenishment and Planning and Network Optimization to ensure alignment with flow plans
  • Coordinate logistics plans for inbound, outbound, and storage needs, utilizing data collection and analysis to support resource evaluation and adaptation to changing supply chain conditions and store demand
  • Monitor performance and allocate tasks to facility leadership and/or third-party providers to ensure accurate processing of product freight.
  • Collaborate and support Strategic Sourcing in establishing, maintaining, and improving commercial relationships of third-party providers.
  • Ability to review supply agreements and statements of work to create win/wins for both Lowe's and the partner, and hold teams accountable to rigorous adherence to service standards of the agreements
  • Work with General Managers or Location leaders at all distribution facilities to review KPI’s that allow us to achieve high levels of efficiency, safety, and customer service through issue escalation and reporting improvements while using feedback to create future state goals and improvement initiatives
