About The Position

The Director of Student Services at the University of Utah is responsible for managing scholarship processes, outreach to student populations and community partners, student recruitment, and handling student petitions as the dean's designee. This role supports the Associate Dean for Student Success and Academic Affairs and requires a self-directed and motivated individual who can work under minimal supervision as part of the student success team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • Eight years of progressively more responsible management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • University of Utah experience preferred.
  • Experience with OnBase, Coursedog, AcademicWorks, and CIS systems including PeopleSoft advisor access, Degree Audits, Academic Reports, Class Demand reports, Class Rosters, and Scholarship Admin.

Responsibilities

  • Manages college's scholarships, including the application process, making and tracking awards, supporting selection committees, and maintaining accurate information about criteria and supporters.
  • Interfaces with Undergraduate studies as needed and organizes curriculum committee.
  • Serves as dean's designee on student petitions, and supports management of academic appeals, misconduct, etc.
  • Manages petitions for exception to policy and liaises with Registrar's Office as appropriate.
  • Interfaces with UROP and manages applications and communication.
  • Plans and executes matters relating to student recruitment and outreach events, including coordinating with campus recruiting activities.
  • Coordinates college activities relating to New Student Orientation.
  • Maintains connection with the student success hub (as appropriate) and allied services.
  • Manages student surveys.
  • Collaborates effectively with the living learning communities, ambassador programs and all other relevant student initiatives.
  • Supervises the Program Manager of Student Services.
  • Collaborates effectively on all student success projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
