About The Position

The Special Assistant for Student-Athlete Development for Women's Basketball at Stanford University plays a crucial role in enhancing the experience and marketability of student-athletes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three years of experience in a related field (five years preferred).
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a sports-related field is ideal.
  • Ability to apply general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles, and coordination of general administrative services.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Head Coach and team members in managing calendars (school, basketball, outside activities and appearances).
  • Lead efforts to enhance players' social media presence, communication skills, and public relations to elevate their influence and marketability.
  • Support the program and players by helping to build WBB specific strategies through partnerships, NIL and player activations.
  • Collaborate with in-house NIL General Manager to ensure streamlined communication and alignment of strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with compliance and other related teams to ensure NIL activities align with NCAA regulations and institutional policies.
  • Assist student-athletes in developing their portfolio of NIL deals and collaborate with marketing and development offices to enhance the visibility of the basketball program.
  • Discover local, regional, and national businesses for collaboration opportunities with Stanford WBB players through NIL and professional development initiatives.
  • Coordinate community service initiatives for the team, fostering a strong presence within the university and broader community.
  • Coordinate workshops and sessions focused on financial literacy and long-term financial planning for student-athletes.
  • Lead initiatives in community and alumni outreach.
  • Serve as liaison to key stakeholders and work with development to host special guests and donors at home and away games.
  • Provide event coordination and execution support for recruiting, team, and donor events.
