About The Position

The Opportunity: Director, Strategy and Business Operations is responsible for leading the operations of one or more PAA functional areas. Supporting our Policy, Evidence, & Access Strategy (PEAS) function. This role includes serving as the Operations Lead to the Vice President of PEAS and their leadership team, overseeing the operations strategy for the function, including Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) operations, and leading a team of operations professionals to execute this strategy. Note, that specific PAA focus areas will be determined based on business priorities, technical expertise, and/or capacity and may evolve or change based on business needs. Leads/oversees an operations team, accountable for setting vision; people management strategy; business priorities/outcomes; budget oversight; and team operations Coaches, holds team members accountable to Role Standards, and actively manages performance in partnership with P&C Evaluates and deploys financial resources to maximize business impact Supports talent attraction and retention, and in-role/career development Operations Lead (i.e. Chief of Staff) to Senior Leadership: Serves as the primary strategic partner to leadership, translating high-level vision into actionable operational plans Design, manage, and facilitate the 'organizational heartbeat' of leadership meetings to foster collaboration, streamline prioritization, and drive effective business decisions Leads strategic planning, implementation, and change management activities for cross-functional teams and leadership teams Proactively provides strategic thought partnership, operations, and/or business planning to leadership/stakeholders to drive business impact Develops, leads and facilitates fit-for-purpose business/financial planning (e.g. strategy development, long-term planning, and T0/MTO Planning) and people practices (e.g. year-end performance reviews, talent management, and succession planning). Creates and manages financial and resource management tools and frameworks to support leadership decision making, financial stewardship, and efficiency, including budget management, headcount planning, and outside spend management Develops and executes multi-channel communication and engagement strategies to drive belonging, innovation, and collaboration within the function and/or across the enterprise Manages complex workstreams (including Work Product Teams, Communities of Practice, and Steering Committees) that impact corporate reputation, patient access, and/or profitability Collective Leadership: Leads a team culture of belonging, innovation, and collaboration Models Collective Leadership both within the function and beyond Leads across the enterprise as a member of the Strategy and Business Operations Leadership Team, CMG operations community, the Public Affairs & Access People Manager Forum, and beyond Leverages, effectively deploys, and shares networks across the organization and externally to identify synergies, catalyze action, and deliver results

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree
  • You have 8 or more years relevant experience, specifically in operations, management consulting, or strategy and operations
  • Experience serving as an Operations Lead / Chief of Staff (or similar capacity) required
  • 2 or more years people management experience
  • Exceptional leader – able to inspire and motivate people to make a big impact and deliver their best every day. Track record of having the courage to drive change, while balancing risks and pacing for success
  • Expert level project management skills. Proven track record at leading large change management projects, including project management, policy development, communication/training planning, and vendor management
  • Skilled in agile practices and facilitation as an agile coach, fluent with “new ways of working” to redesign operational support to meet business needs
  • Demonstrates entrepreneurial and enterprise-level thinking by being bold, creative, curious, pushing boundaries, and finding a way.
  • Expert knowledge (or a demonstrated aptitude to learn) healthcare compliance
  • Experience tracking and reporting out metrics and analytical insights

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Certification (PMI, PMP, etc.) highly desirable
  • 5 or more years of managing operations to support market access and/or HEOR activities
  • 5 or more years managing complex contracts
  • Prior experience managing vendors / contractors
  • Deep expertise in the U.S. payer landscape, including commercial, government, and specialty pharmacy channels
