About The Position

The Director of Strategic Supply Chain is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the end-to-end supply chain strategy across four manufacturing sites within the Business Unit. This role coordinates and supports all strategic purchasing, production planning, materials management, logistics, supplier development, and inventory strategies at the multi-site level.

Requirements

  • Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
  • Must be strong at negotiations and negotiation strategies with a track record of supplier savins and improvements in supplier performance and working capital.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload in a multitasking environment, short-term tactical along with longer term strategic activities.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively and motivate others in a multi-site environment.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.
  • Strong ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from the production floor to the executive office; strong interpersonal, leadership, & organizational skills.
  • Experience preferably in the military or aerospace industries.
  • Experience with lean, Six Sigma, SIOP and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Supply Chain.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to influence, resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
  • Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a unified supply chain strategy across all BU sites.
  • Drive cost reductions through the site teams and Global Sourcing Group.
  • Standardize and improve processes across all locations.
  • Oversee strategic procurement and supplier management.
  • Implement operational excellence initiatives to improve supply chain performance.
  • Establish performance dashboards and metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure supply continuity.
  • Prepares and manages planning processes and master scheduling regarding production materials used in the manufacture of customer products, WIP materials flow, procurement systems and shipping.
  • Manages, prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices to buyers and inter-company planners.
  • Analyzes market, supplier and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability in support of manufacturing.
  • Negotiates for contract of outsourced production items.
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Interacts with suppliers to address continuous reduction of lead-times, material costs and on time delivery of materials.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining supplier performance reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
