Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Procurement and Sourcing, the Director, Strategic Procurement and Sourcing OTC-CPG plays a key role in leading US supplier commercial relationships for McKesson Global Procurement and Sourcing (MGPS) strategies that drive value across McKesson's wholesale and retail businesses. The role will lead the implementation of the wholesale and retail trade spend joint sourcing framework of National Brand OTC-CPG categories across North America, with the objective of growing supplier yield for the US business. The Director will liaise with MGPS teams across markets to set the overall strategy and lead the day-to-day engagement with US based suppliers, leading negotiation activities, ensuring the proper execution of contracts, and assessing overall supplier performance. The Director will also provide strategic leadership to the sourcing team while fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve financial, operational, and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic negotiations, vendor relationship management, strategic sourcing, manufacturer planning and category management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent.
  • Strong business acumen.

  • Bilingual, both written and spoken.

  • Wholesale distribution experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Sets overall strategy and approach for joint sourcing on wholesale and retail trade funds
  • Acts as the commercial lead for US-based suppliers
  • Acts as the main stakeholder that will ensure her/his team understand the Category needs and goals of all McKesson retail businesses and acts as the liaison on behalf of MGPS
  • Leads the team that will initiate, negotiate, and manage wholesale and retail agreements, costs, vendor allowances/terms, for US-based suppliers
  • Vendor management oversight to include: collaborating, and negotiating extensively with national brand vendor community in support of financial targets and ongoing monitoring of targets tied to compensation
  • Continuously seeks ways to mobilize his/her team in seeking and implementing innovative methods for maintaining, renewing and creating revenue generating agreements by focusing on financial performance
  • Collaborates with MGPS colleagues responsible for sourcing in other markets to share best practices and consistency in supplier messaging
  • Collaborates with McKesson Sales, Operations, and key customers to uncover value-add opportunities and programs presented by supplier community
  • Monitor and track supplier performance against financial goals and compensation-linked targets.
  • Coaches and develops teams of individual contributors to help raise level of competence and business acumen, by conducting performance evaluations, developing Individual career plans and helping strengthen key succession planning goals.
  • Promotes skill development within the team on general procurement practices and company global standards as it relates to retail contract management and own brand strategy planning and procurement activities.
  • Sets and carries out objectives, and fosters a culture of performance, continuous improvement and collaboration with Management, peers, and subordinates.
