About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director Strategic Operations is responsible for developing and executing operational strategies that align with Environmental Services' overall strategic goals, focusing on optimizing efficiency, driving growth, and ensuring smooth execution of key initiatives by analyzing data, identifying improvement areas, and leading cross-functional teams to implement necessary changes across the organization. The incumbent will work closely with executive leadership to translate strategic plans into actionable operational tactics. The Director Strategic Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Business Unit, ensuring efficient workflows, managing budgets, and developing strategies to optimize productivity, all while aligning with the organization's strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Advanced ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • A deep understanding of strategic planning principles and the ability to translate strategy into actionable operational plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of operational processes and best practices within relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and environmental regulatory and compliance.
  • 7 - 10 Years of overall relevant work experience
  • Experience in a senior operational role

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and develops a team of professionals to assist in their development and attainment of necessary skills to lift performance. Monitors staff performance and drives performance improvement initiatives and ensures that service levels meet or exceed agreed upon standards.
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and refine strategic plans, identifying critical success factors and key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitors key performance metrics to track progress and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Analyzes market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement across departments and implements operational changes to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
  • Oversees the execution of large-scale strategic initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensures adherence to all relevant compliance, regulations, and safety standards across the business unit. Leads planning and implementation teams for critical, business-wide environmental and safety consulting projects as needed.
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders across different departments and external client groups to ensure alignment with strategic goals and project success.
  • Evaluates business and program specific processes to identify targets for improvements. Develops and recommends policy changes necessary to implement recommended improvements.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on project progress and deadlines, program metrics and dashboards, and sustainability of improvements.
  • Manages relationships with external clients, vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Attend regulatory and association sponsored informational and policy meetings.
