About The Position

The Director of Strategic Finance at UCI Health will play a pivotal role in transforming business and financial planning processes across the health system. Reporting to the CFO, this position is responsible for enterprise business planning, financial analyses, and operational optimization. The incumbent will lead strategic finance initiatives, partner with various stakeholders, and manage complex projects to drive measurable improvements in financial performance and resource management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of internal or external healthcare experience in an academic setting or equivalent experience.
• Strong operational background in finance and/or strategic projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with structured Change Management methodologies.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Analytical ability to develop, analyze, and interpret data.
• Proven ability to manage risk and ambiguity on projects.
• Results-oriented with strong project management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of healthcare market and government regulations.
• Experience working collaboratively with CFOs, COOs, CNOs, and Clinical Directors.
• Familiarity with database and decision support systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive transformation of business and financial planning processes across the health system.
• Conduct enterprise business planning review and activation.
• Perform health system funds flow analyses and implement strategic initiatives.
• Enhance healthcare financial awareness across the clinical enterprise.
• Strengthen UCIH Finance structure and resource management in anticipation of growth.
• Lead key strategic finance and financial transformation initiatives.
• Partner with UCIH Strategy and UCI School of Medicine to develop and implement complex projects.
• Manage multiple complex projects from inception to completion using UCI Health tools and methods.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement projects, programs, and processes.
