Central Sterile Processing Director position assumes twenty-four hour responsibility for planning and coordinating the clinical and managerial aspects for the Central Sterile Processing Department. Responsibilities include the provision of processed, sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Reports to and works with Surgical Services Administrator and assists in the planning, organizing and the overall objectives of the department and its daily operations. The Central Sterile Processing Director supports the philosophy and standards of the Surgical Services Division and GHMC. The Director functions as a leader for Central Sterile Processing personnel. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years Surgical Technician or Sterile Processing Experience
  • 1 year experience in a Management role.
  • Central Service Registration required
  • Travel to multiple facilities is required.
  • Work is primarily sedentary with intermittent standing and walking.
  • Performs normal office activities.
  • At times is needed to lift and carry supplies and trays weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
  • Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
  • Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
  • Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
  • May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S./B.A. in Health, Business or Nursing preferred
  • Central Sterile Technician certification is highly desirable
