Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The position will be responsible for leading Exelon's engagement with external stakeholders and building third party coalitions to support Exelon and Operating Company policy initiatives. The position will be responsible for retaining and managing external consultants to support stakeholder strategy development and execution. The position will also be responsible for developing and executing Exelon's engagement strategy with various federal agencies, including Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Federal Communications Commission, and to coordinate with subject matter experts across the company on these matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years professional experience in the electric and gas industry involved in govt affairs or external affairs activities.
  • Either a BA or BS degree in business, engineering, political science, public policy or related field
  • Possess a broad breadth of knowledge about the electric and gas energy industry; a sophisticated understanding of and experience in electric and gas utility operations, bulk power market operation and the regulatory & legislative process
  • Conversant with trends and policy implications of current financial, energy, legal and labor issues associated with this industry
  • A track record of collaborating with external stakeholders and guiding high profile agendas and/or issue campaigns through complex political and regulatory environments and the broader public policy arena
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Law Degree or Masters degree in business, engineering, political science, public policy or related field
  • Previous work experience in utility regulatory, legislative, policy or legal groups

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's engagement with external stakeholders and coordinate with teams across Exelon and the Operating Companies to build and maintain relationships, ensuring insights and perspectives are shared consistently and proactively with external stakeholders.
  • Manage and utilize consultants to support strategy development and execution.
  • Work with teams across Exelon and the Operating Companies to ensure alignment and transparency of communication to external stakeholders.
  • Build diverse coalitions to advance Exelon and Operating Company strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Coordinate with Operating Companies, particularly during state legislative cycles, to champion third party voices and advance state-level priorities.
  • Develop and execute engagement strategy with various federal agencies and closely coordinate and collaborate with subject matter experts inside the company and with external consultants.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $188,800.00/Yr. – $259,600.00/Yr. plus an additional $50K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually
