The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Director, Space Planning to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Director, Space Planning oversees the renovation and improvement of facilities by coordinating the development of new buildings and negotiating professional service contracts and leases. The Director, Space Planning’s goal is to maximize space in a way that meets institutional needs and objectives Inspects physical structures and surrounding grounds, and spearheads remedial projects. Coordinates custodial activities, landscaping, and building maintenance. Delegates work assignments to assigned personnel and provides guidance, training, and general direction to staff. Oversees all equipment, fixture, and furniture acquisitions and installations. Collaborates with senior leadership and other vested parties to plan, develop, and implement safety and security issues. Prepares reports detailing space trends and needs and generates recommendations to resolve issues. Monitors projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable policies, procedures, and standards. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
