About The Position

The Role: As the Director – Sourcing, reporting to the Sr. Director – Global Procurement, you will lead and evolve our global procurement organization across complex spend categories. This is a leadership role responsible for defining and executing category sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, resilience, and risk, while delivering measurable value to the business. You will lead a team of category managers and buyers, partner closely with executive and cross-functional stakeholders, and shape the long-term sourcing strategy in alignment with corporate objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep market insight, strong negotiation leadership, and a proven ability to drive performance through people, process, and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Engineering or Business-related discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years within the chemical industry with at least 10 years of procurement experience
  • Minimum of 3 years as a people leader, experience can include leading projects or cross functional teams
  • Experience purchasing raw materials in the chemical industry
  • Familiarity with procurement systems. SAP experience preferred

  • Experience working within energy markets is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the overall procurement strategy, ensuring strong alignment with corporate objectives and delivering long-term competitive advantage.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for complex, high-value negotiations across multiple spend categories, balancing commercial outcomes with risk management.
  • Apply deep and broad market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions and support business strategy and performance.
  • Lead supplier relationship management across categories, strengthening partnerships, driving performance, and mitigating supply and operational risk.
  • Drive the development and strategic use of procurement analytics and data insights to improve decision-making, transparency, and results.
  • Manage procurement budgets and performance, demonstrating strong financial acumen and contributing to enterprise-level financial goals.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive and senior stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and acting as a key business advisor.
  • Oversee procurement risk governance, ensuring a consistent, proactive approach across all sourcing and supplier activities.
  • Sponsor and provide strategic direction for key procurement initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and effective resource allocation.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire the procurement organization, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative culture.
