About The Position

The Director of Software Engineering for the LCE/LQS Omnichannel Platform at Lowe's is responsible for leading the management of a complete product portfolio, overseeing engineering teams, and ensuring the delivery and reliability of technology solutions. This role requires collaboration with various technology teams, product management stakeholders, and business leaders to address complex technical and business challenges while fostering an inclusive environment for team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10 years of IT experience.
  • 6 years of experience in software engineering or related field.
  • Experience with project implementation applying development life cycles (SDLC).
  • 5 years of experience leading global technology teams with direct report responsibility.
  • 2 years of experience working closely with senior leadership.
  • 3 years of experience managing operational and/or financial budgets.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a large matrixed organization.
  • Experience managing the development and integration of complex business systems.
  • IT consulting experience.
  • Experience in IT Management in the retail industry.
  • 4 years of experience in software development in an agile environment.
  • Second level IT management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the product team to establish priorities across the product portfolio.
  • Manage software engineering teams to design, build, and maintain technology solutions.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with functions to understand business needs and user journeys.
  • Provide guidance and resolve cross-functional issues throughout the application development lifecycle.
  • Create standard operating procedures and operationalize assigned services or applications.
  • Ensure mechanisms are in place for teams to resolve production issues within defined agreements.
  • Monitor testing activities to align with the team's testing strategy.
  • Manage departmental budget and forecasting decisions, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Align technology solutions with architectural and business standards through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Build trusting relationships with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
  • Establish best-in-class engineering practices through solid design decisions and tools.
  • Set goals, strategies, and budgets for large-scale initiatives, promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Manage a portfolio of services or applications, leveraging partnerships for support.
  • Lead teams through all technology solution development phases, ensuring adherence to company methodologies.
  • Foster an inclusive environment to help associates achieve their potential.
