Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! - We are seeking a SOC Architecture Director/Manager to lead architecture development for communications hardware. The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in silicon architecture, networking protocols, and digital signal processing, thriving in a fast-paced environment where innovation meets mission-critical execution.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in Silicon Architecture or Lead RTL Design roles
  • Demonstrated experience with SOC architecture and integration
  • Experience with high-performance networking hardware design
  • Background in digital signal processing implementation
  • Knowledge of industry standard bus protocols and interfaces
  • Strong technical leadership and team management skills

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline
  • Background in space-based or radiation-hardened electronics
  • Knowledge of 5G or advanced communications protocols
  • Experience with high-speed SerDes and network interfaces
  • Track record of successful tape-outs in leading-edge process nodes
  • Experience mentoring junior architects and engineers
  • Understanding of FPGA prototyping and emulation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and development of high-performance custom ASICs for networking applications
  • Define and document the SOC architecture and specifications for multiple chips
  • Drive high-level modeling and architecture exploration for critical networking components
  • Collaborate with RFIC, System Architecture, and Software teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Oversee and guide integration of multiple IP blocks in complex SOC environments
  • Define and maintain the interface specifications between hardware and firmware/software
  • Develop innovative solutions for digital signal processing
  • Create networking protocol implementations optimized for space-based applications
  • Balance performance, power, and area requirements for space-qualified silicon
  • Lead a team of architects and senior design engineers
  • Establish best practices and design methodologies for the ASIC development team
  • Support the translation of system requirements into hardware architecture
