Additionally, Stream sources and develops low-risk land sites for optimum data center development and provides energy procurement services with a focus on reducing market risk and providing low-cost renewable energy options. FACILITY OPERATIONS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Facility Operations Engineering Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Engineering Technicians (CETs) on each shift. This team is the face of Stream Data Centers to our customers and the first line of defense regarding the uptime of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track work needed, the Facility Operations Engineering department performs all preventative and corrective maintenance. Our culture expects and rewards team performance that engages directly with the customers and the facility infrastructure. This is a team that does most of the actual work versus calling upon vendors. As a result, we provide superior service that is faster and more cost effective. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Director of Site Operations will manage a team of Critical Facility Managers(CFMs), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Critical Engineering Technicians (CETs). with direction from the Vice President, Data Center Operations to maintain operations of a large scale 200MW+ data center campus. This position will oversee budgeting for all sites at the campus, Customer communications, KPI reporting, and oversee training and development of assigned CFMs/SMEs and their direct reports. You will support facility operations and construction during project development, review, and execution. The expectation is the individual will be key in supporting and directing all operations and projects at their assigned campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field, or equivalent work experience required
  • 7+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision, strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills, strongly preferred
  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
  • Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and building automation systems
  • Work at heights and from ladders.
  • Perform physical tasks, including moving heavy equipment (50 pounds), operating critical infrastructure, crawling in tight spaces.
  • Work in a noisy environment with ear protection and eye protection.
  • Work in a critical environment with potential for high stress decision making.
  • Perform extended site rounds that could include long distances of walking and long periods of time being away from a desk.
  • Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
  • Lift up to 50lbs
  • 10%-20% travel Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Strategic oversight and administration of the engineering & operations functions at the facilities with the objectives of safely and effectively operating machinery and building systems
  • With assistance from CFMs, develop and maintain operating and CAPEX budgets for the campus
  • Hold CFMs accountable on preventive/corrective maintenance of facility equipment
  • Oversee the mentoring, training, and develop all personnel on the campus
  • Encourage and foster a team-oriented environment through feedback
  • Understand and implement strategies to ensure tenant lease requirements are properly implemented and facilitated
  • Train CFMs/SMEs, as appropriate, in new processes and procedures
  • Act as a back-up people manager to the CFM/SMEs at assigned sites at their campus
  • Understand the engineering and operational aspects of the building systems and recognize system performance deficiencies immediately
  • Provide input to CAPEX budget
  • Review and input at all stages of projects (design, submittal, RFI, weekly jobsite walks)
  • Basic knowledge of Security/Project Management/Engineering requirements
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices
  • Foster positive relationship with tenants
  • Back-up resource for maintenance and service repairs on critical Data Center systems (UPS, PDU, Diesel Generators, ATS equipment and Building Controls, Chillers, CRAH, etc.), as well as all industrial electrical equipment and systems that include power distribution components/wiring, electronic components, and lighting systems throughout the data center campus
  • Using your knowledge of the systems in place, coupled with performance data collected, evaluate the performance of systems, and suggest cost-effective improvements to service and operating efficiency
  • Ensure the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building
