About The Position

The Director of Service Line Operations is responsible for overseeing operational functions as applicable to the Service Line across the FHSC system. The Director of Service Line Operations requires expertise in the execution of service line operations across multiple care settings and care delivery environments across an integrated delivery system. The role is responsible for overseeing the operational objectives for the Service Line, the execution of outlined goals, and ongoing tracking performance reporting. Responsible for collaborating across the organization to ensure that Service Line performance is aligned with organizational action plan (OAP) and operationalizes change management when necessary. Manages cross-functional projects through completion and supports the initiatives with data-driven insights. The position is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. The Service Lines under this Director of Service Line Operations leadership will include the ENT Institute, the Endocrinology Institute, the Hospital at Home program, and the Think Ambulatory First initiative. The Director will report directly to the Senior Administrator and serve as a key operational leader responsible for advancing strategic priorities across these areas. They will work within a cross‑functional team driving day‑to-day operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals related to access, quality, efficiency, and patient experience. In this role, the Director will collaborate closely with clinical operations teams, physician leaders, and multidisciplinary partners to strengthen care delivery models, streamline workflows, and support innovative approaches to ambulatory and home‑based care. A central focus will be improving quality outcomes, optimizing operational performance, and fostering integration across service lines. The director will also identify opportunities for program growth, enhance coordination across teams, and support initiatives that promote clinical excellence and long‑term sustainability.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, and/or Nursing.
  • 6 years of progressive professional experience in healthcare setting with at least three (3) of those years in a formal Leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-hospital Service Line operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational leadership of the Institute(s) and Service Line(s) as assigned.
  • Executes comprehensive Service Line specific operational initiatives and programs to support the Service Line's strategy and vision across the FHSC System.
  • Responsible for collaborating across the FHSC System to ensure that operational initiatives and goals are aligned with the organizational action plan (OAP) and strategic goals.
  • Translates vision into operational Service Line programs across the FHSC System.
  • Thinks innovatively and strategically about differentiators and critical needs for operations programming across the FHSC System.
  • Provides operational leadership for Service Line programs internally, as well as with providers, partners, community organizations, and applicable legislature bodies.
  • Communicates with Service Line leadership on Service Line operations, programs and progress.
  • Assists in facilitating operational initiatives across service lines continuums of care including, but not limited to, the outpatient setting, ambulatory setting, inpatient setting, clinical trials and research.
  • Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with other departments/service-lines across the FHSC System to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, products, and services; identifies opportunities to support FHSC System initiatives, quality, efficiency, effectiveness and world class service.
  • Partners with FHSC System Service Line Leadership (Institute Lead and Institute Chief) to set direction and outline operational initiatives and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Supports operations of ambulatory clinics for Service Line in partnership with TGH, TGMG, USF and USFTGP administrator.
  • Participates in and helps define the continuous improvement process in partnership with appropriate leadership and Team Members for Service Line initiatives such as, but not limited to, Operating Room, Cath Lab, Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology, Emergency Services, Therapies, etc.
  • Develops and implements operational processes focused on high quality inpatient and outpatient care and the coordination of care across multiple departments / locations.
