Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
BVP within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
Certification for ICS/NIMS and HICS within 6 months of hire.
Two years college degree preferred.
Two Years experience in healthcare security supervision work or related field.
PC 832 / Level 1 law enforcement training or higher.
Reserve Deputy / Police Officer experience.
Can be substituted for experience with the Department of Corrections, Military Law Enforcement, or healthcare security management.
State Drivers license upon hire
Current DMV H6 report

Responsibilities

The Director of Public Safety/Security & Emergency Preparedness is responsible for directing and administering the operations of the Security Department.
Will provide day-to-day supervision and management of the Security staff.
Will ensure that all requirements, regulations and documentation involving the security department is completed.
Will secure and protect the patients, visitors, staff, building, and property.
Will investigate and submit reports on assaults, thefts, damage to personal and facility property, and all related security issues.
Assists the staff in the handling of combative persons and situations.
Will maintain communication with the local law enforcement agencies.
Oversees multiple facilities.
The dedicated disaster planner will implement all local city/county or federal grants’ requirements in the facility.
Activities must be coordinated in accordance of multiple local agencies’ requirements that implement the programs for their respective counties or communities.
