Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • BVP within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
  • Certification for ICS/NIMS and HICS within 6 months of hire.
  • Two years college degree preferred.
  • Two Years experience in healthcare security supervision work or related field.
  • PC 832 / Level 1 law enforcement training or higher.
  • Reserve Deputy / Police Officer experience.
  • Can be substituted for experience with the Department of Corrections, Military Law Enforcement, or healthcare security management.
  • State Drivers license upon hire
  • Current DMV H6 report

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Public Safety/Security & Emergency Preparedness is responsible for directing and administering the operations of the Security Department.
  • Will provide day-to-day supervision and management of the Security staff.
  • Will ensure that all requirements, regulations and documentation involving the security department is completed.
  • Will secure and protect the patients, visitors, staff, building, and property.
  • Will investigate and submit reports on assaults, thefts, damage to personal and facility property, and all related security issues.
  • Assists the staff in the handling of combative persons and situations.
  • Will maintain communication with the local law enforcement agencies.
  • Oversees multiple facilities.
  • The dedicated disaster planner will implement all local city/county or federal grants’ requirements in the facility.
  • Activities must be coordinated in accordance of multiple local agencies’ requirements that implement the programs for their respective counties or communities.
