Be part of something extraordinary at Nebraska Medicine! The Director of Safety is responsible for overseeing the safety for patients and colleagues across the Nebraska Medicine enterprise. The director of safety develops strategies and implements policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with best practices in patient safety, employee safety, and infection prevention. These strategies support the achievement of the organization’s safety goals and align with the vision for safety across the enterprise. The director of safety leads a multidisciplinary team of safety and infection prevention professionals and collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to identify and address safety and quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and design and evaluate improvement initiatives. The director of safety also oversees and ensures implementation of best practices aimed at reducing hospital acquired infections and other infection prevention initiatives. The director of safety also fosters a culture of safety among staff and patients and engages external healthcare peers and partners to share and learn from best practices and innovation.
